Nimbus is a Lanner Falcon, a medium-sized falcon found throughout much of the Mediterranean, the Middle East, and parts of Africa. The Lanner Falcon physically resembles the Peregrine Falcon in many ways, however, the Lanner Falcon sports a reddish cap on the top of its head, which helps distinguish it from many other similarly-coloured falcons. Juvenile falcons will often turn their heads into crazy positions as they figure out how to use their impressive eyesight, and I wanted to capture this quirky look.
